Maharashtra Govt Declared Holiday For Schools In State on 22 Jan

“All the government, government-aided, and private schools, colleges, or universities will remain closed on 22 January 2024”, said the Maharashtra State Government.

The state minister of Maharashtra, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, wrote to Chief Minister Shinde to declare a public holiday on the occasion of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Many states have already announced a holiday on 22 January 2024, it was expected that the Maharashtra government will also take the initiative for the schools and colleges closure. 

Public Holiday Announced on 22 Jan Updates

According to the state minister’s official orders, “all the government, government-aided, and private schools, colleges or universities will remain closed on 22 January 2024”.

Previously, the union government also declared a half day of the central government establishments in the country, no government offices will remain open before 2:30 p.m. 

Some colleges and universities will also provide a half day to students, office staff, and professors considering the notice issued by the government. 

Along with Maharashtra, the governments of Goa, Odisha, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh have also announced a public holiday due to the Ram Mandir’s inauguration. 

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh state governments have also announced school holidays on 22 January 2024.
