The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) an advisory body to the Govt. of India in school education, has issued a stern warning against copyright infringement of its educational materials.

The authority released the notice after it came to the notice that a few unscrupulous publishers are printing NCERT textbooks which are available on its official website, under their name without obtaining permission from NCERT.

A tweet on the NCERT’s official Twitter account has also been posted on 7 April 2024 regarding the unauthorized use of textbook contents.
The authority also stated that those who publish NCERT textbooks in whole or in part or use its content in such publication for commercial sale, without obtaining the copyright permission from NCERT, shall be proceeded against under the Copyright Act 1957.
At last, the authority also stated that the general public is requested to kindly stay away from such textbooks or workbooks as their content may be factually incorrect and against the basic philosophy of NCF 2023.
