NCERT To Release New Textbooks For Classes 3, 6 In April & May

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is set to release new textbooks for classes 3 and 6 as per the National Curriculum Framework School Education (NCF-SE) for session 2024-25 in April & May respectively.

The NCERT has issued a notice on its official Twitter account to all the CBSE-affiliated schools in India that the new textbooks for classes 6 and 3rd are under development and will be published soon.

On the official website @ncert.nic.in, NCERT has also posted a bridge course for teachers to enable them to familiarize themselves with the new class 6 textbooks. Additionally, it also had guidance for class 3 teachers to help students adjust to the new pedagogical approaches with ease.

In addition, the council has also stated that the buffer stock for classes 4, 5, 9, and 11 textbooks is ready and the digital copies of all NCERT textbooks are freely available on the NCERT portal, DIKSHA, and ePathshala portal and app.

Schools are to use the new texts for Classes 3 and 6, according to Joseph Emmanuel, the director of CBSE’s academic branch.” Consequently, schools are advised to follow these new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of textbooks published by NCERT till the year 2023,” he stated.

Previously, the council has made some changes in the 2024 history & sociology books and added some new topics to the curriculum. However, a few chapters of classes 5, 6, and 12 are also modified by the authority for the student’s betterment.
